Enable virtualization

Regulus needs hardware virtualization to run its Windows machine. This guide walks through turning it on.

This page is a placeholder. The full guide is still being written.

1. Check whether it's already turned on

Run this and look for vmx on Intel or svm on AMD:

grep -E -m1 'vmx|svm' /proc/cpuinfo

If you see a match, virtualization is already on and you can run Regulus.

2. Turn it on in your firmware

Reboot into your UEFI or BIOS settings and enable one of these, usually under CPU or Security:

3. Give Regulus access to KVM

Make sure the KVM device exists and that your user can open it:

ls -l /dev/kvm
